A Simple Depiction of the Stimulus Effect on the Deficit
Saturday, July 31st, 2010Possibly My Favorite Chevy Ad
Friday, July 30th, 2010First of all I love Corvettes, and the ZR1 near the end of is one incredible machine. Second I love that Chevy (who is 61% owned by the US Government) is taking a swipe at the Obama Administration’s decision to cancel NASA’s shuttle program (for those of you who haven’t heard US astronauts now have to ride to space with Russia).
Also I, like many proud Americans, believe that American exceptionalism is something to be proud of. As a strong nation we have been able to defend smaller countries from outside invaders and created technologies that have improved lives around the world. We should embrace and encourage an America that is exceptional because it means that we have something to offer the world.

A New Definition of Entrepreneur
Sunday, May 16th, 2010Webster’s defines an entrepreneur as “a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, especially a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk.”
Apparently Nancy Pelosi believes that people should be quitting their jobs that society believes are more productive (since they pay more when including benefits) for those which society deems less productive. That’s just what America needs as we try to turn our economy around.
I don’t have any issue with people who make a living doing music or photography, what I do have a problem with is subsidizing their lifestyle with other peoples money.
The Beauty of Capitalism
Thursday, May 6th, 2010One of the great things about Capitalism is that change is driven by the consumer, not some government panel of experts. Case is point is an American classic – the Minivan.
And just as the minivan has changed, so has its advertising. Here is a commercial for the very first minivan offered by Chrysler in 1984 and below it is one for Toyota today.
Ok this one is a bit longer but pretty dang funny…HT to my wonderful wife for sending this to me.
This also highlights a huge shift in marketing from being almost exclusively on TV (the first clip is only 30 seconds) to making commercials exclusively available on the internet.
A Humorous Take on EPA Regulation
Thursday, April 29th, 2010In response to the EPA’s request for citizens to send in videos about the benefits of additional regulation, a few people thought it might be nice to also show the costs of the proposed regulations.
Its all in good fun and over-the-top at times, but I think its important to remember that every law and regulation has real effects on our everyday lives. Some of those effects are undoubtedly nice, however are they always worth the extra costs?
Hopefully you get a nice little chuckle out of this like I did.
Dave’s Quote of the Day
Friday, January 29th, 2010“I swear this guy (Chris Matthews) is one scotch away from being Ron Burgundy” – Jon Stewart
The Quote comes only at about 3:45 but really the first 4:30 minutes are worth watching…it goes downhill from there.

A Tribute to Scott Brown
Wednesday, January 20th, 2010A hilarious recap of the race in Massachusetts the day before the vote.
I don’t usually agree with Jon Stewart’s political comments but he nails this one.
